Howe was famously denied 2017’s Mark of the Year for a towering grab against Melbourne, losing out to Joe Daniher.

The Pies won the game 16.17 (113) to 12.8 (80) after trailing by 27 points at quarter time.

Big American Pie Mason Cox booted 4.1 from eight marks, while Adam Treloar had 32 touches and 14 tackles.

Bontempelli booted three majors for the Dogs, while Tom Liberatore amassed 28 disposals.
