Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan has been diagnosed with testicular cancer

“He will be having surgery this week. Football is a distant second issue he is now dealing with, but football wise he will be an indefinite absence from the game,” Damian Barrett told the Hot Breakfast.

Melbourne will hold a press conference today.

“The club is aware and people around Jesse are aware that this is being made public as we speak. They are obviously well aware, given they have organised this press conference today, but they are comfortable with the telling of this story today," Barrett said.

Hogan’s illness comes just weeks after his father passed away after a battle with cancer.
