“Collingwood's Jordan De Goey has notified the club that he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.095 per cent after a random breath test in Port Melbourne on Saturday night,” the statement read.

“His driver licence was immediately suspended and he has been disqualified from obtaining a licence for the next six months.

“Club officials will meet on Monday to determine how this matter will be addressed.

“The club will make no further comment on this matter until a decision has been made.”

It’s not the first time De Goey has made headlines for the wrong reasons; he broke his hand in a bar fight prior to the start of the season last year and was internally suspended from the senior team for three weeks on top of the three weeks it took him to get over the injuries.

Collingwood's first JLT series game is on the 1st of March against GWS at Manuka Oval.
