Promising North Melbourne youngster Jy Simpkin has been handed the No.12 jumper which was previously worn by veteran small forward Lindsay Thomas.

After being taken at pick No.12 in last year’s draft, Simpkin showed plenty of promise in his debut year, playing 13 games and booting nine goals.

The 19-year-old wore No.21 in 2017.

Thomas came to an agreement with North Melbourne earlier this month to be delisted with a year to run on his contract with the hope of reportedly joining Port Adelaide.

Thomas played the third most games (205) and kicked the most goals (325) in the No.12 for North Melbourne.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne have also announced that Majak Daw has switched from No.38 to No.1.
