Carlton coach Brendan Bolton has all but confirmed that veteran Kade Simpson will play on for the Blues in 2019.
In his post-match press conference this afternoon Bolton said that the 34 year-old is a pivotal member of the club and that a contract extension is imminent.
"He's a great role model for our football club," Bolton said.
"He'll play on, there's no doubt about that. We want him to, we need him to and he wants to. We'll just get it sorted through his management and SOS (Stephen Silvagni).
"It's so important to have that type of player with our list profile."
Simpson, who has played 306 games, hasn't shown any signs of slowing down by averaging 27 disposals and 6 marks per game in 2018.
