Western Bulldogs star Katie Brennan is heading to the tribunal tonight to contest her one-match ban.

Brennan was ruled out of the AFLW grand final thanks to a rough conduct charge on the weekend, being cited for a sling tackle on Demon Harriet Cordner.

The Bulldogs skipper received the one-match ban as it was her second classifiable offence of the season.

“In summary, as a second classifiable offence this season, she can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea,” the AFL said yesterday.

“Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

“The incident was a second classifiable incident this season and therefore classified as a two-match sanction. An early plea enables the player to accept a one-match sanction.”

The hearing will take place at 5:30 pm AEDT.
