Collingwood youngster Kayle Kirby has been diagnosed with an underlying heart condition and will miss three months of footy.
He will be monitored by club doctors and his cardiologist in that time, assessing his reaction to a light training program.
The Pies will give an update on his condition at the end of those three months.
Kirby collapsed while playing for the Pies’ VFL team on March 31st and has been monitored since.
The 19-year-old made his debut in the Pies’ round 23 win over Melbourne last year, picking up four disposals and a behind.
The news comes just after a similar condition sidelined St Kilda’s Dylan Roberton for a similar period of time for his own heart condition.
