Talks between Levi Casboult and Carlton on a new deal appear to have frozen, according to Triple M's Damian Barrett.

Casboult has rejected an offer to stay from Carlton, and Barrett says that Carlton offer isn't getting any better.

"What’s happened there is he has rejected the offer from Carlton," he said on the Friday Huddle.

"He’s rejected it and now, upon rejecting it, the club itself has said well, that’s it, get your head around that offer, we’re not increasing it.

“As such, I don’t see him being there (next year)."

Luke Darcy expressed his disappointment at Casboult, saying the Blues have shown plenty of faith in him over the years.

“I take exception from this,” he said.

"Levi Casboult was offered very, very little for a long time at Carlton, he hasn’t been able to deliver. (He’s) finally showing some signs that he might, and if he then shops himself around and decides to leave for a slight increase, then I reckon the footy karma’s not great.

"I don’t think that’s a smart move."
