Western Bulldogs veteran Liam Picken will miss the rest of 2018 to recover from concussion.

Picken, who has not played a game this season, will dedicate his attention towards being right for the 2019 season and continuing his improvement with his symptoms.

Picken has been in full, non-contact training for the last eight weeks.

“I’m encouraged by the progress I’ve made and I’m very lucky to have been looked after by such a great team of medical experts,” he told the club's website.

“I have been blown away by the support of my family, team-mates, the club, and by all of the messages I’ve received from Bulldogs fans and the wider football community.

“I will take the extra time to dedicate to my recovery and will now look ahead to next season.”

Triple M's Damian Barrett believes Nic Naitanui's ACL injury is "premiership-ending" for West Coast.
