Lions Young Gun Sidelined After Training Accident

Brisbane midfielder Rhys Mathieson has been sidelined for 4-6 weeks following a mishap at training.
“(He) had a really bad sprain to his ankle,” Peter Blanch told the club website.
“The sprain resulted in some ligament issues, including ligaments in the top of his ankle.
“Luckily it wasn’t bad enough that it required surgery, but he will be in rehabilitation for the next 4-6 weeks.”
The news is frustrating for the Lions, who will go into Round 1 with fellow young guns Hugh McCluggage and Josh Schache who are also dogged with injury.
