Triple M's Paul Roos once nearly ended up departing Fitzroy - where he was captain - and joined Collingwood during his playing career.
Roosy told the incredible story on Triple M's Sunday Rub, going into depth about the severity of the situation from Fitzroy's end and just how close he came to becoming a Magpie.
He said the news was at first "a bit of a shock".
"I got the phone call from Damien Smith, who was my manager at the time," he explained.
"The phone call went along the lines of Fitzroy want you to take a 33 per cent pay cut, or they're gonna trade you to the club of your choice, or they'll just trade you anywhere."
