Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has said Bob Murphy is likely to miss at least the Sydney game with a hamstring injury.

Murphy limped off with a left hamstring injury late in the Dogs' win over the Saints on Saturday.

Beveridge admitted he didn't know the specifics, but assumed the skipper would miss at least three weeks.

"I don't know enough to give you anything around how bad it is, but obviously he has hurt it," he said post-match.

"I'd imagine he'd probably miss some weeks. Even though we've got a bye I don't think he'd be available for the Sydney game."

A low-grade hamstring strain generally sees players miss three to four weeks of action.

"As is the way with hamstrings, it's always at least three (weeks) these days," he said.

"We'll update you as quickly as we can."
