McDonald's is expanding kick to kick after the siren in the AFL this year, thanks to their Macca's Kick 2 Kick program.

The program will be rolled out at up to 85 games in 2018 at the MCG, Etihad Stadium, GMHBA Stadium, Adelaide Oval and Metricon Stadium.

Footy stars Jack Riewoldt, Dayne Zorko, Isaac Heeney, Brad Hill and Moana Hope were on hand to kick off the program, helping players brush up on kicking, handballing and tackling.

McDonald's spokesman Adam Kelly said it was a terrific opportunity for all fans.

"Together with the AFL, we are delighted to be able to help bring footy fans closer to the game, and enjoy Macca's Kick 2 Kick after the siren at selected matches during the AFL's premiership season," he said.

"2018 will be our biggest ever season, with Macca's Kick 2 Kick being offered at more games around the country than ever before."

AFL general manager of game development Andrew Dillon said the news more fans will be able to enjoy kick to kick after the siren was "really exciting".

"Kick to kick is a really popular and loved part of AFL games, and we're really excited to increase the number of matches that it's at for next year to up to 85 games over the season," he said on Tuesday.

"It's really exciting for all of our fans."
