20 years after the Adelaide Crows pulled off a miraculous comeback victory over North Melbourne, Mark Ricciuto jokingly thanked Wayne Carey for the flag on Dead Set Legends with Jay Clark and Leigh Montagna.

On the weekend that the Crows will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the 1998 premiership, Roo implied that if the Duck had of kicked straight then the result may have been different.

“He always says he won three premierships the Duck. Two for North Melbourne and one for Adelaide. Because he kicked one goal five in that game,” Roo said.

“Everyone says Peter Caven did a good job. But I reckon if you ask Duck today if Peter Caven played well I think he’ll say something like ‘well if I kicked straight he wouldn’t have (played well)’.”

“But you know what Duck is like. He’s a good fella and he always has a laugh back at those sort of things.”

The two mates later ended up playing together when Carey crossed to the Crows in 2003.
