Former Essendon and Geelong coach Mark Thompson had his home raided as part of Victoria Police investigation, according to Fox Sports’ Tom Morris.

An address believed to belong to Thompson was raided last Friday.

“Detectives from Southern Metro Divisional Response Unit and Geelong Divisional Response Unit executed a warrant at Port Melbourne on 5/1/18,” a police spokeswoman told Triple M.

“Detectives attended the Rouse Street address at 9.30am.

“No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.”

Officials did not confirm a reason for the search.

Thompson played 202 matches for Essendon, winning three flags.

He coached Geelong for 260 matches from 2000 to 2010, winning another two flags, before moving to Essendon as an assistant to James Hird and ultimately coached the club in 2014.
