Joel Selwood has been put on ice early in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Selwood hurt his leg late in the first half, limping away after a marking contest.

He appeared to be in serious trouble, barely able to put any weight on his leg.

He was assisted off by trainers and went down to the rooms.

However, he managed to shrug it off, and started the second half on the field.

But a late tackle from Lance Franklin saw him wrench his ankle again, and with the Cats well behind, he was benched early in the last term.

Triple M boundary rider Neroli Meadows said Selwood wasn't thrilled about missing out on the rest of the match.

"They tried to give him the jacket, he threw it back in disgust," she said.
