Former Gold Coast wingman Matt Shaw, ex-Port Adelaide defender Cameron O’Shea and delisted Carlton midfielder Blaine Boekhorst have all joined in the Blues’ pre-season training.

The trio are hoping for reprieves in one of next week’s drafts. Shaw and Boekhorst found themselves on the scrapheap at the end of the 2017 season while O'Shea was cut at the end of last season and has played with Carlton's VFL affiliate Northern Blues this year.

Shaw is the most credentialed of the three players, having played 102 games with the Suns in seven seasons.

O’Shea played 81 games since making his debut with the Power in 2011 while Boekhorst featured in 25 games for Carlton in his three years at Princes Park.

The former first-round pick was perhaps a little unlucky to be cut by the Blues given he kicked three goals, collected 19 touches and took eight marks in his final game with them.
