Melbourne delisted small forward Ben Kennedy on Monday after two years with the club.

Kennedy crossed to the Demons from Collingwood at the end of the 2015 season.

The former Magpie made a bright start to life with Melbourne, playing 15 games in first year with them to take his career tally to 40.

But he failed to crack a senior game in 2017 and his future in the AFL is now uncertain.

Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney thanked Kennedy for his service.

“After a solid first year at the club, Ben was unable to break into our AFL team in 2017,” Mahoney said.

“We commend Ben on the way he handled himself through the year, when it can be frustrating not playing at AFL level.

“In the second half of the season his commitment could never be questioned and he continued to perform strongly at VFL level.

“We thank Ben for his two years at the club and hope he gets another opportunity at AFL level.”

Kennedy joins Heritier Lumumba (retired), Jake Spencer (delisted), Jack Trengove (delisted), Mitch White (delisted) and Liam Hulett (delisted) as departures from the Demons.
