Melbourne midfielder Aaron vanDenberg will be sidelined for at least another eight weeks after suffering a setback with his heel injury.
The 25-year-old has failed to play a game so far this year for the Demons due to the injury.
Melbourne elite performance manager Dave Misson confirmed the hard nut would now consider several options on how to recover from the injury.
“That heel just isn’t settling the way we’d like, unfortunately for Aaron,” he said.
“We’re just going to get a couple more opinions and just make a decision on where we’ll go from there.
“It’s an unusual injury and very difficult for him. It’s another disrupted season, but we’re hoping to get some good information in the next week or so and organise a plan of attack from there.”
Since being picked up as a mature-age recruit at the end of 2014, vandenBerg has played 28 games for Melbourne.
