Essendon has confirmed Michael Hurley has injured his hamstring.

Hurley will be unavailable for the next fortnight with the Bombers confirming he left the field late in the game against Carlton with a hamstring problem.

Scans have revealed it is a minor hamstring strain, according to high performance manager Justin Crow.

“He came off with maybe three or four minutes to go with a cramp in his hamstrings," he told Essendon's website.

“Obviously we scanned that, he’s got a hamstring strain.

“He’ll definitely miss this week, most likely he’ll miss two games, but it’s not impossible he’ll do a little bit better or a little bit slower depending on how he tracks over the next few sessions.”

Andrew McGrath will also miss this week's clash against Geelong, with Josh Green over his hamstring strain.

Jake Stringer went in for a scan after back stiffness, which won't rule him out of this weekend's clash.

"It was a dumb comment in relation to (Jed Lamb's) dad." Tom Browne on the sledge that started the Carlton/Essendon melee.
