Emerging Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern is in doubt to take the field for Friday's preliminary final against Geelong. 

McGovern has been rumoured to be battling with a hamstring injury which could keep him out of Friday nights game. 

The Adelaide Crows have put out a statement on their website confirming they were looking into the injury further.

"Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern will undergo further medical investigation after reporting soreness in his hamstring." 

"The soreness is in the opposite (left) leg and unrelated to the injury McGovern missed 10 games with earlier in the season.

"The Club will provide an update when more information is available."

McGovern has a recent history with hamstring injuries having missed 10 games between Round 4 and Round 13.

The Crows will host Geelong on Friday night at Adelaide Oval at 7.50 pm (AEST).
