Brisbane midfielder Mitch Robinson will miss the rest of the season.

Lions coach Chris Fagan confirmed on Sunday that Robinson would miss the rest of the season with ligament damage in his foot.

"(Mitch) Robinson is gone for the season, he is done," he said.

"The bone is healing, but where the bone and ligament is attached there is damage so he has to have that repaired."

The 27-year-old broke his foot in Brisbane's round seven loss to Sydney.

It was originally feared the midfielder would miss around 10 weeks of action.

Prior to his injury Robinson had averaged 22 disposals a match across six games, and had kicked nine goals.
