Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley says Darcy Moore won't play against Richmond on Friday night.

Moore has been battling with fitness this season, playing just seven games at AFL level.

Buckley confirmed to reporters on Wednesday that the 22-year-old had failed to prove his fitness in time.

"Darcy’s not fit to play and hasn’t been enough to put enough work together to be passed fit to go," he said.

The news is slightly better for Ben Reid, who has been declared available to play, but Buckley said he has been reluctant to tinker with Collingwood's set up.

“(Reid has) had a good four or five week block and is available to play," he said.

"We haven’t selected Reidy because we think our mix is pretty good at the moment."
