The club has confirmed that Melbourne co-captainĀ Nathan Jones is set to miss more than a month of football after suffering a quad injury.
Jones was forced from the field in the club's win over the Western Bulldogs and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
He played no part in the game after three-quarter time.
Jones was on a consecutive games streak of 109 before this injury - the second-longest in the AFL currently.
