It’s going to be tough for footy fans coming to the MCG from the north-east this weekend, with no trains stopping at Jolimont Station.

Jolimont is closed due to scheduled maintenance works on the South Morang and Hurstbridge lines.

The lines are closed between Parliament and Bell on the South Morang line, and Parliament and Heidelberg on the Hurstbridge line, with buses replacing trains.

The matches affected will be the Hawthorn v Adelaide game on Saturday night and the Geelong v Richmond game on Sunday.

South Morang and Hurstbridge are the only lines served by Jolimont, so all other train lines are fine.

Damian Barrett explained the AFL’s secret rule trial yesterday.
