North Melbourne has confirmed 19-year-old forward Nick Larkey will make his debut this week, becoming the ninth Roo to debut this season.
Larkey will play his first game against Essendon on Saturday after some impressive form in the VFL.
He's kicked 21 goals in 10 games in the VFL this season, including 10 in the last three weeks.
"I'm playing this week, so it's unbelievable," he said.
"I thought I might be a sniff, but I wasn't sure if they were going to wait another week.
"(It's the) best news I've heard I can't remember since when.
"They were waiting for my knee to get right, and it is right."
Larkey was drafted with pick 73 in the 2016 AFL draft.
According to North Melbourne's Twitter account, he's also signed a contract extension until the end of 2019.
