North Melbourne forward Mason Wood will be sidelined for a further three weeks due to knee surgery.

Wood has already missed the start of the season due to a hamstring injury and his comeback has now been delayed further.

“Mason was cleared to play in a VFL practice match on the weekend but felt some pain in his knee,” North Melbourne football manager Cameron Joyce said.

“Scans revealed a tiny bone fragment floating in his knee joint that was unrelated to the previous hamstring injury. As a result, Mason underwent a minor arthroscope on Tuesday to wash it out.”

In good news for the Kangaroos, Ben Brown and Majak Daw have both been cleared to play against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday.
