North Melbourne has had a horror day in the VFL, being held goalless against Casey.

The Kangaroos kicked a miserly 0.7 (7), going down by 37 points to Casey's 5.14 (44).

North nearly kicked a goal in the dying moments of the game, with a snap from  Matt Lee 15 metres out clipping the inside of the post.

The game was marred by wet and windy conditions, with players slipping and sliding through puddles throughout the game.

Casey's Tom Bugg and Dom Tyson each recorded 31 disposals, while Jay Kennedy-Harris starred with 25 disposals and three goals, taking Casey to top spot.

It's the lowest score ever recorded in the VFL in its current form, overtaking Sandringham's 0.9 (9) against Williamstown three weeks ago.
