AFL legend Paul Roos joined Triple M’s Winter Breakfast in Melbourne with Mark Howard and Lawrence Mooney this morning and addressed the rumours linking him with the Collingwood Football Club.
Rumours have been swirling that Collingwood president Eddie McGuire made a detour to Hawaii on his way home from Europe to discuss the possibility of Roos coaching the Magpies next season and beyond.
“Yeah that’s not true,” Roos said.
“That’s completely not true.”
When quizzed on whether he would be interested in the Collingwood coaching role should it become vacant, Roos was emphatic in his answer.
“No I wouldn’t be,” he declared
“I’m happy to provide a commentary on it if people want to ask me, and I was as honest as I possibly could be last time.
“The reason why people don’t believe me this time is because it did change last time.
“But I have already booked a trip overseas the night of the grand final and won’t be back until January 15.
“So unless they move the team, any team, to Waikiki – I won’t be able to do that.”
