Port Adelaide defender Tom Jonas has been ruled out for at least a month after injuring his knee against St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Jonas will undergo an arthroscopy to remove a “floating loose body” from his knee and the club said there was a possibility he could miss as many as six weeks, putting him in a race against time to be fit for the finals if the Power qualify.

The backman has been one of the Power’s best players this year and has even been talked up as an All-Australian prospect.

The Power will now go into games against Fremantle (away), GWS, Western Bulldogs (away) and Adelaide without Jonas.
