GWS believe Jon Patton has done his ACL for a third time.

Patton went down at training on Thursday with a knee injury, with the club waiting on scans.

“The initial diagnosis for Jon doesn’t look positive however we’ll await the results of scans on Friday," GWS general manager of football Wayne Campbell said.

“He has the full support of everyone at the GIANTS during this challenging time.”

Patton has torn his anterior cruciate ligament twice in his career, both in his right knee.

He first tore his ACL in early 2013, missing the rest of the season, and re-injured it late in the 2014 season.

Patton has played 89 games for the Giants, kicking 126 goals, and was their leading goal kicker in 2017.

An injury would be another blow for the club, who are already missing the likes of Jeremy Cameron, Brett Deledio and Toby Greene for extended period.
