Jay Clark has dropped a bomb on the Sunday Rub, saying Richmond is circling number two draft pick Josh Schache.

Schache is yet to re-sign with Brisbane beyond his initial two-year contract, after being drafted in the 2015 AFL draft.

And Clarky revealed Richmond have started the pursuit to lure Schache out of the Lions.

"Brisbane key forward, number two draft pick Josh Schache (is) not yet re-signed at Brisbane," he said on Triple M.

"He's the next big thing of their forward line...they can't re-sign him."

He revealed the Tigers are looking for him to become the next generation of their forward line.

"Richmond is the club which is circling this gun forward," he said.

"Of course they've got (Ben) Griffiths and (Jack) Riewoldt, they're looking for the next spearhead."

Schache played 17 games with Brisbane in his debut season in 2016, kicking 16 goals.

Although his late father also played for Brisbane, Schache grew up in Victoria, playing for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup, and winning the Larke Medal as the MVP in the under-18 competition for Vic Country.
