Richmond has confirmed their 2017 leadership group, with Trent Cotchin to captain the club for a fifth season.

The biggest move in the leadership group is the addition of Jack Riewoldt, who has moved into a vice-captaincy role.

He will be joined by star defender Alex Rance as a co-vice captain, completing a three-man leadership group.

Richmond's general manager of football Neil Balme commended Cotchin for being voted in as captain once again.

“Trent is an impressive player and person, and his leadership of this group has developed significantly,” he said on Richmond's website.

“We love the way that Trent leads from the front, supports his teammates and represents our football club, and the Richmond jumper.

“We’re very confident that both Jack and Alex will be great support for Trent as his deputies this season.”
