Star Richmond defender Alex Rance has told Triple M’s Rush Hour that concerns over his hamstring injury are a “storm in a tea cup”.

Rance will sit out the Tigers’ opening practice match of 2017 against Adelaide on Friday night as he deals with tendinitis in the muscle.

But the three-time All-Australian expects to feature at some point during the JLT Series.

“It’s pretty good,” Rance said of his hamstring.

“I’ll be cherry ripe for the season. Nothing to worry about, Tiger fans.”

The 27-year-old is one of Richmond’s most important players, having earned All-Australian honours in the last three years.

Arguably the best defender in the AFL, Rance won Richmond’s best-and-fairest in 2015 and finished second last year.
