Adelaide youngster Riley Knight has won the Crows’ first 2km time trial of the pre-season around the Adelaide Athletics Stadium.

The 22-year-old picked up where he left off after having a breakout 2017 season in which he achieved career-bests in disposals, marks, tackles, clearances and contested possessions.

Wayne Milera (second), Jake Kelly (third) and Paul Hunter rounded out the top four in the time trial.

First-to-fourth-year players returned to Adelaide pre-season training on Monday. The rest of the playing group is due back on December 4.

Brodie Smith (knee) and Hugh Greenwood (foot) are the only players not expected to join in when Adelaide’s pre-season training starts.
