Willie Rioli has inspired Glenelg to a barely believable comeback victory in the SANFL today.

Glenelg kicked 5.2 to Norwood’s 0.1 in the last term to turn a 25 point three quarter time deficit in to a six point win.

The game ended 10.9 (69) to 9.9 (63).

Willie Rioli — cousin of Cyril — personally contributed 4.1 of Glenelg’s score himself in a one man effort fitting of, well, a Rioli.

He finished with five of Glenelg’s 10 goals for the game.

His goals will look familiar to anyone that’s watched Cyril — or Maurice or Daniel, given the guernsey and number Willie was wearing — with some serious heroics on display:

Then there was this clever one-on-one work in an open forward line to level the scores:

But the coup de grace was the late winner after getting a free kick for holding the ball:

Fair to say Willie Rioli won’t be buying his own drinks in Glenelg any time soon!
