Rory Sloane was admitted to hospital today to have appendix removed.

The 27-year-old was complaining of abdominal pain and it was determined surgery was required.

Sloane's teammate Eddie Betts also had his appendix taken out ahead of Adelaide's round 19 clash against Collingwood.

ADELAIDE STATEMENT: 

Adelaide vice-captain Rory Sloane has been admitted to hospital to have his appendix removed.

Sloane, 27, reported abdominal pain on Tuesday morning and after extensive investigation in recent hours it was determined that surgery was required.

The Club remains hopeful the midfielder will be available for next Thursday’s Qualifying Final against Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval.
