Saints GM Simon Lethlean Has Explained The Decision To Delist Nathan Freeman

St Kilda GM Simon Lethlean has defended the controversial decision to delist midfielder Nathan Freeman.

The delisting comes after Freeman finally debuted this year, having been drafted back in 2013.

Lethlean says Freeman's still looking to get back to his best, and hopes he reaches it at another club.

"I think in Nathan's own words, now he's got some continuity he's still searching to regain some of the weapons that really does make him a senior footballer."

"I don't think he's got those weapons necessarily where he wants them."

"Hopefully those commentators that think he's been cut short advocate for him at another club to take a chance."

"I hope he plays senior football, because that'd be the best thing for him, because he deserves it."
