Sam Mitchell is set to announce his retirement, according to reports from Herald Sun’s Glenn McFarlane.
He goes on to write that Mitchell will transition into an assistant’s coaching role under Adam Simpson come season's end.
Mitchell moved over to the west at the end of last season after 307 games with the Hawks.
