Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury will miss his first senior game since round 21, 2014 after undergoing finger surgery.

The 29-year-old had a pin inserted last night however he could be back on the field sooner than expected.

“It is a good result, but perhaps a little bit more is going on in there than was first thought, once the surgeon opened him up,” General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh told Collingwood Media.

“He will certainly miss this week.

“Given Scotty’s ability to recover from these things and level of comfort and what sort of guard he may need to wear, all those things will be taken into consideration after this week, and we will see whether he is close to resuming the following week.”
