Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury just pulled off a brilliant troll shortly before the second half started between his side and GWS at Spotless Stadium.
Pendles’ wife, Alex, is set to have the couples’ first child any day now, and Pendlebury signalled during the week that he would leave the game if she went into labour.
Naturally all eyes were on Pendles at half time, and speculation that he’d gotten the call from home went crazy when he trotted off down the race just before the first bounce of the second half.
He then calmly strolled back after a couple of minutes — turns out he’d decided he needed an impromptu toilet break.
It certainly raised a few eyebrows - and heart rates - amongst Pies fans (not to mention fantasy footy players).
The Pies currently lead GWS midway through the third term 11.7 (73) to 11.5 (71).
