Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has clarified the situation around his Achilles injury, saying he'll be ready to go for round one.

Pendlebury pulled out of the JLT Series clash with Richmond on Saturday with Achilles soreness.

But he said it was no more than a precaution.

"I noticed it when I woke up, I was a little bit tight in my Achilles," he told Fox Footy.

"Because round one for us is 12 days away, they (the medical staff) said if you feel it at all we want you to pull the pin.

"I came out for a little bit of a run and I felt it just a tiny bit. I said I was happy to play through it, but they said there's no use playing through it now, we'll just get you right for the Bulldogs."

Pendlebury suggested the injury was as minor as it gets.

"It's been a problem for 24 hours, I shouldn't have told the medical staff," he laughed.

"Today's not a massive priority...i'll be nice and fresh for the Doggies."
