Ex-Fremantle Docker Shane Yarran has indirectly told the club that two heavily critical social media rants did not come from him.

Two posts from a Facebook account claiming to be the recently retired Docker were posted on Friday.

However, in a statement to AFL.com.au, the Dockers said that Yarran had told them he does not have an account on the social media platform.

"Despite numerous attempts the club has not be able to talk directly to Shane Yarran regarding posts made from a social media account in his name," a club spokesman said.

"However, last night Shane advised a club official via SMS that he did not have a Facebook account.

"The account from which the posts were made has now been deactivated."

Yarran, who managed six games for the Dockers after being recruited at 61 in the 2015 draft, retired from AFL football on Monday.

He is facing charges of unlawful wounding and aggravated common assault for seperate incidents.
