West Coast star Matt Priddis confirmed on Perth’s Mix 94.5 that Shannon Hurn will captain the club for a third consecutive season this year.

Hurn replaced long-serving skipper Darren Glass in 2015 and led the Eagles to a grand final in his first season in the role.

“It’ll be announced very soon but it’ll be Shannon Hurn again. He’s the man for the job,” Priddis told Clairsy, Matt and Kymba on Tuesday.

Priddis also revealed that high-profile recruits Sam Mitchell and Drew Petrie would play their first game for the Eagles on Saturday against Fremantle in Geraldton.

“I’m looking forward to playing alongside them this weekend,” he said.

Mitchell was controversially traded by Hawthorn to the Eagles in October while Petrie was picked up in the rookie draft after being delisted by North Melbourne.
