St Kilda Lose Defender To Hand Injury
Saints down a rotation
St Kilda defender Jimmy Webster's day is over early against Carlton at Etihad Stadium due to a hand injury.
Blues ruckman Matthew Kreuzer stood on Webster’s hand midway through the first quarter, which forced the Saints half-back off the ground.
He was in the rooms for the last 14 minutes of the first quarter getting treatment.
The 23-year-old came back on for the start of the second half but was in pain and had to go off again.
He re-emerged later with a tracksuit on and will take no further part in the game.
“Jimmy Webster back on the bench with a heavily strapped hand,” Triple M’s Dr Rohan White said
“He’s got a tracksuit on, he won’t take any further part in the game.”
Dr White said that it was likely that Webster’s hand is broken.
“They’ve put so much strapping on [his hand] it’s a bit like a plaster, they’ve immobilised it… he’s probably got a little fracture there.”
