St Kilda have re-signed promising youngster Blake Acres to a new two-year contract extension.

Acres wasn’t due to come out of contract until the end of next season but will now be a Saint until the end of 2020 at least.

The 21-year-old had the best season of fledging career this year, averaging 20 disposals across 18 games.

Acres said it was a simple decision to commit to St Kilda.

“I’m excited by the direction this club and playing group is heading,” he said.

“We are a tight-knit group and we’re looking forward to getting back to work and making our mark next season.”

Since being recruited with pick No.19 in the 2013 AFL Draft, Acres has played 44 games and kicked 19 goals.
