Sydney’s horror start to the 2017 season has gone into a third week with the Swans going down 11.14 (80) to 11.13 (79) at the SCG.
The Swans were behind the 8-ball all night after being jumped by the Pies early, but it came down to a nerve-wracking final quarter and a brilliant sealer from Will Hoskin-Elliott.
Not the result they wanted in Buddy’s 250th game.
Things seem likely to get worse before they get better for the hapless Swans though.
Their next fortnight includes a trip to Domain Stadium to take on West Coast and an SCG date with the high-flying GWS Giants in round five.
It’s not implausible to suggest that last year’s minor premiers and beaten grand finalists may well be 0-5 and well adrift of the top eight.
Not ideal.
