Sam Reid’s season is in jeopardy after the Sydney swing man was ruled out for six weeks on Monday.

Reid injured his Achilles in the NEAFL on the weekend as he continued his comeback from a quad injury sustained earlier in the season.

The 26-year-old is set to undergo surgery, and he will not be available until round 23 at the earliest.

However, Reid has only played one AFL game this year back in round three against GWS so it could be a gamble to bring him back straight in for a final if the Swans qualify.

Reid’s operation comes hot on the heels of Jarrad McVeigh (collarbone) and Dan Hannebery (calf) being ruled out for six and three weeks respectively after they hurt themselves against Geelong last week.
