Taylor Walker joined the Triple M breakfast team in Adelaide and provided an update on star teammate Rory Sloane.

The gun midfielder was admitted to hospital last week with appendicitis, and in similar circumstances to Eddie Betts earlier this season, had to have appendix removed.

Tex revealed that although Sloane had done "some physical activity’’ since his operation, the Crows wouldn't risk the long term health of Sloane to get him up for their qualifying final against GWS on Thursday night.

“After such an internal problem for him if the surgeon says he’s fine to go then he’ll play,” Tex told Roo and Ditts.

“But if there is any doubt we won’t risk him because you can get a hernia and then that can cause further issues down the track.

“It would be great if he can play but if not we can get the job done without him.’’

Yesterday Crows Assistant David Teague said Sloane would need to be given as much as time as possible to prove his fitness, but would ultimately need a medical clearance to play.
