Adelaide skipper Taylor Walker will miss a few weeks as he undergoes a conditioning program.

Walker's pre-season was limited due to a nagging foot injury, which has since held him back from getting through training and games.

The Crows say he will miss a few weeks to undergo a conditioning program, with the view of returning to AFL once fully fit.

Forward Riley Knight will also be monitored due to hamstring tendinitis, and will also miss some action.

Adelaide head of football Brett Burton said the injuries showed the value of completing a pre-season.

"It's obviously not an ideal situation but once again shows the importance of completing a full pre-season, which both Taylor and Riley were unable to do due to injuries," he told the club's website.

There is also concern for reigning best and fairest winner Matt Crouch and small defender Luke Brown, according to AFL Media, with both pulling up sore after the Showdown.
